hello
I think the first 3 are video and the last one originated on film.
Cant quite say why though, but those are my thoughts.
Be interested in the answers.
Good Thread.
Cheers

#1 and #3 both have shallow depth field which indicates a long lens, which in turn indicates a larger format camera like a 35mm which is film. That's not absolute; they could still be video.
#2 has some detail in the shadow area so I'd say film.
#4 just does not look as sharp to me so I vote video for that one.

Are you aware you are presenting an unfair comparison?

Why's that? - because the girls much better looking than the guy?!

It's real hard to tell from stills I think because the grain isn't jumping around as when projected. Then again, that effect can be added! I guess that the guy is on film and the girl is not. I have no idea why, just a guess.
I have been watching VH1 and MTV in the background and they keep adding a grainy film look to all their shows lately. Film is at the height of fashion right now, then again it's always been cool...

Motion.
Some of the most revealing characteristics in any motion picture medium, are evident when they move. Otherwise, you could have posted 2 still photos. One taken by a digital camera - the other with a film camera.
I'm sticking with none are film.
Unless you've figured out a way to post film images on a computer without transferring them to video.

I will go for video because of grains. I do not buy any bad focus that can be film looks. However, they are all video period. Hope this time I can hold my pant if not then enjoy the view! Jerome, deaf filmmaker
